A month later and ugly penmanship

I'm obviously a blogging slacker as I am here with 4 month old pictures of Edyee now to post. We have been busy cutting 2 teeth already. I'm trying my hand at a little bit of scrapbooking, I have no clue what I'm doing but I need a creative outlet as I haven't sewn anything in well, 4 months to be exact, and I'd like the lil' gal to have some sweet photo albums of her childhood too. I've only completed one page so far and I'd say it turned out ok, but my biggest complaint is how not pretty my handwriting is. I wish I had girly pretty handwriting like some that I know ( Carole, Wannabe, Jessica) you ladies have the prettiest penmanship, can I take a class or something?
I've posted some tunes over on the side bar that the little lady and I have been listening too, I'm craving more Mel Torme but Playlist.com doesn't have a great selection, that I've found anyway, of his tunes. Remember the show Night Court? The judge Harry had a picture up in his office of Mel Torme, I think that's how I learned about him. Weird huh?

3 Months Old

Hi all! I can't believe Edyee is already 3 months old. It feels like she has always been here, hard to believe she was still in my belly a little more than 3 months ago.
Shs has discovered how fun her hands can be and enjoys sucking them, especially during the night. I'm all for "self soothing" and really don't mind that she seems to reject the Pacifier.
She has also found her voice and loves to "chat" to the ceiling fan and most of the time on her changing table. She is also rolling now over onto her side, she especially loves to do this when I'm trying to put her diaper on! ;)
Hope you are all doing well! I'll post some pics of the doggies soon too (they LOVE Edyee and have taken to sleeping in her room sometimes) people might start to wonder as to the name of my Blog and all!!
Cheers!

Happy Baby!

Someone has discovered they have a voice, a very sweet girly voice.

That even giggles now.

And coo's and blows bubbles.

And melts Mommy's and Daddy's hearts.

Happy Mother's Day

Us girls were playing dress up with some goodies made by the lovely and talented Amanda! Thank you Amanda!
All is well here in new Mommy land, we're starting to get on a bit of a schedule now... i think. I can't beleive she is 8 weeks old today.

I want to wish all you Mommies a happy Mother's Day, boy do you deserve it!! I have such a humble and admiring respect as a rookie for all Moms, it truly is the most selfless, difficult and important job you can do.

Have a wonderful weekend and a very Happy Mother's Day Ladies!!

Oh Baby!

Hi. Sleep? Who needs it when you can spend every waking minute with a cutie like this!! ;)
Mom, Dad and baby are adjusting to our new world. Thanks to all of you who have sent us the sweetest well wishes and girlie goodies, you are all too kind. I will send you each a note when Edyee decides to give me a few moments to do so. So far I think being a parent feels like an elite club membership that you don't "get" till you're already a member.
Here's my current To Do List:
Nurse
Diaper
Kiss & Coo
Nurse
Cuddle
Sleep, a little
Repeat
And I'm learning to Love it.
Hope you're all doing well!

Ready For Baby

The nursery is finally finished. My husband was the brains and brawn behind all this, I love the portrait rail with the chair rail, he picked the paint too as I was SO indecisive. I will take credit for most of the pink though, and thanks to all our family and friends who have helped out with all the newborn necessities from our shower.

New floors, new base molding, crown molding, fresh paint, some paintings made with love by Grandma Mimi (yes all the paintings were done by her). A closet with plenty of pink to wear the first few months of life, I hope she likes pink like I do!

A few cozy blankets to snuggle in, one that matches the room perfectly knitted by her other Grandma.

A dresser with a few drawers full of newborn diapers (Thanks Robinson's) and the diaper changing necessities, we think.

Her name in fabric letters from Anthropologie, blurred for now since her name is Top Secret till D-Day! ;)

A Rocker for nursing and cuddling.

A soon to be friend to watch over her. Less than 4 weeks till we finally get to meet her.

33 Weeks and 4 Days...but who's counting

I feel huge, but good. I'm getting some actual swelling now...hello cankles! I get kicked in the ribs fairly regularly now too but other than that I have no complaints. I actually enjoy being pregnant. Our due date has been updated to the 17th of March so we might have a St. Patty's Day baby!

We've Been Showered

Our lovely friend Cassie threw us a fabulous shindig last Saturday night with all our friends and family, yes it was a coed evening even for a baby shower. Everything was pink and green (like the nursery which I'm getting close to sharing pictures of - I LOVE that room!) and we had around 45 people. It was great to catch up with some and just chat like usual with others. Our friends new baby girl was there (7 weeks old) and my cousins daughter Amara whom she just adopted from Ethiopia was there for us to meet for the first time. We had a great time and received many wonderful gifts.

Isn't that diaper cake adorable? It was filled with pacifiers and soft bite spoons and thermometers and books etc. Not to mention 2 drawers worth of diapers!

My friend Marissa and I, she had her baby 2 days after our shower, Welcome Daphne!

The Business about Bellies

25 weeks

Ok, ok, so I've been getting the busines from a few people (you know who you are) about posting some pictures of my growing belly. Now I only have a few at the moment but I will post another recent one the next time I'm not in sweats and getting ready to workout -k-
The picture above is me at 25 weeks and I'm 27 weeks now, so it's a few weeks old. I'll post a new one in the next few days.
Thanks for the shop love with the update I made yesterday. All orders will be going out tomorrow morning. I wanted to have more to add but I only have so much time lately with trying to finish the nursery etc. Hopefully I can make some more goodies in the next few weeks and have an 'after Christmas buy for yourself or the person your forgot' sale! ;)

Girly Updates

Well, first off it's been a very exciting time around the "Mo" house as we learned on Halloween at our big ultrasound that not only does the baby look healthy and happy at the 21 week mark but we learned that the little bundle of joy coming into our lives will be a daughter! We are so elated and thrilled! We were initially quite shocked as we had convinced ourselves that we were having a boy, no scientific reason of course just boy heavy families, and we just figured it would be a boy. We would be equally please either way of course but I guess Mamma will get to make some pink baby goodies now!
Speaking of goodies, I will be updating the shop on the 14th, I'm not exactly sure what time yet but whatever new goodies I have made will go in the shop on Wednesday! I have more ideas than time however with a fairly busy weekend in front of me but whatever doesn't make it from my head to the sewing table then to the shop by Wed will most definitely make it in the shop before December!
I hope everyone is having a nice November so far, I can't believe Thanksgiving is less than 2 weeks away. BTW, I've been craving stuffing since like August! This babe is gonna LOVE turkey day! ;)

A Shop Update Coming Soon

I'm not exactly sure when yet but I'll announce it here before I post some new goodies in the shop. I'm working on a few other items too. I hope you're all doing well and having a lovely Fall!

Some songs to "Ad"

Have you seen the new Old Navy Commercial? The one where they are wearing the cute Fair Isle sweaters and the girl is singing "If you are chilly, here take my sweater" - Well I always love that song when it does come on. I found out who sings it, it's Ingrid Michaelson.

You can check her out here playing the whole song on Carson Daly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5roINIWhVj0 -btw, Carson Daly totally irritates me, don't know why but he just seems like a weenie to me. ;)

The other cool song in a commercial that I dig lately is Regina Spektor, a fav already, It's called "Music box".

Here's the whole thing: http://youtube.com/watch?v=-aH0qfU6bo8

Crafty for a Baby Shower

So I know I've been totally MIA as far as the shop has been concerned this Summer, we've been putting all our energy (which is lacking a little anyway lately with BabyMo using it up) toward finishing the remodel of our bedroom & bathroom.
I did do something crafty this past weekend though and figured I should share it with my Blog friends!
This was a gift for a girlfriends Baby shower, I got the set of suitcases at The Land of Nod - Love that store!
Then I made each suitcase for one of the family members, one for Mom, one for Dad and one for Baby. The Baby suitcase had a blanket I made with the babies last initial on it, this was my 1st attempt at using Wonder Under and I LOVED it!

The suitcase for Mom had a bunch of girly bath goodies, some oganic soap, a silky eye mask, bath pillow and don't forget the chocolate!

Dad's suitcase had the Baby Owner's Manual: Operating Instructions, Trouble-Shooting Tips, and Advice on First-Year Maintenance, this book is so funny, totally reads like a car manual! A bottle of Crown Royal accompanied the Dad's gift too.

The shower was great and I think the gift went over well!

BabyMo is growing strong these days, I'm just about done with my 1st Trimester, it's flying by! We got to hear the baby's heartbeat again last week and my belly is starting to take on a gradual new shape these days. I'm totally avoiding maternity shopping for as long as possible but that is a whole other post entirely! ;)

Cheers!

...and Baby Makes Three

Yep, that's right - I'm going to be a Mommy! BabyMo is now about 9 weeks in the making! We're VERY excited! No morning sickness yet, just tired. I feel really good actually!
